The ward of Chelmsford Rural West is in the west of the Borough and covers the villages of Pleshey, Good Easter, Chignall Smealy, Chignall St. James, Roxwell and Highwood.

It has a population of 2,764 (as at the 2011 Census) and is represented by Councillor Nicolette Chamber.
